IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR SESSION:
Please read before you proceed to scheduling.
Ambrotype & Tintype photography is a true art form and can be very imperfect .
This style of photography is over a century old chemical process. Flaws and use of chemistry and handling are evident in every wet plate photograph.
These photographs are for personal use only. For booking commercial plate shoots, please contact me before scheduling to discuss licensing options.
This format has a very shallow depth of field. It is mainly used for individual or couples portraiture. We can fit up to 5 people in one image, but we will have to take a bit more time with each image to make sure everyone is in proper focus.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS ON 16x20 AMBROTYPES:
The Ambrotype process requires the subject to be almost completely still. From previous experience, capturing individual portraits of children under the age of 6 and pets with this antique technology is very difficult. If you have one of these SUBJECTS you want photographed, please email us before scheduling and we can discuss the possibilities of this style of wet plate image. If you would like additional ambrotype images made during your appointment, arrangements must be made at least a week before your scheduled session. Due to material costs and acquisition, we cannot shoot additional plates without prior notice.
